Listening List for the Classical
This is a list of suggested pieces and composers for your Classical Listening.
Weekly Form for the Classical ( This will be given to you in class.)
This is the sheet that should be the first page in your Listening Folder. The listening sheets that you fill out will go behind this.
Online Listening for the Classical Period
You may also use iTunes or other online sources as long as you can get the information needed: name of composition, name of composer, name of performing group/person, and length of time for the piece. Pandora is not recommended as you are not always able to choose the exact piece you want to listen to.
The best choice? Use the link above to the online listening. I have selected many CDs and you may choose from compositions on those CDs. What could be easier? You may be asked to login. Use your school login (your user name is your email address without the @bobjonesacademy.net part) and your school password. If you have trouble, please email me. We'll work out the bugs! Remember, you can also send these pieces to a mobile device to make it easier for you to do your listening.
Please do NOT use YouTube for your listening. There are many pieces on YouTube that are poorly performed, incorrectly identified, incomplete or just variations on what the piece should be. I cannot control what you listen to. So --- I have chosen videos that are worthwhile for you to watch and those will become part of your Thursday homework assignments. For that reason also, DO NOT use YouTube.
